What You Can Do To Help

There are many ways that you, as either an individual or an organization, can support the work of the Ontario Lyme Alliance and the development of a provincial strategy for Lyme disease in Ontario.

There is an ongoing need for financial support to keep our efforts moving forward. As we are a non-profit organization, we do rely on donations in order to continue our work. To learn more about the OLA, to make a financial contribution, or help with fundraising, please contact us.

Organizations:
  • Send a letter to the Minister of Health to request the prioritization of the development of the Lyme strategy! We currently have letters of support from groups that are particularly affected by the risk of Lyme infection, such as nature lovers and unions of outdoor workers, as well as medical associations. Their letters of support can be viewed here. If you would like to write your own, please contact us for more information.

Individuals:
  • Sign MPP Mike Mantha's petition asking the government to act on the motion and see the strategy developed.

  • Tweet, call, e-mail, or visit your MPP to remind them that Ontario needs a provincial strategy for Lyme disease!

  • Send a patient statement that will be submitted to the provincial strategy committee! These patient statements are intended to explain to the committee the ways in which Lyme disease has affected Ontarians and illustrate the problems with the current guidelines. If you are a patient or caregiver who would like to submit a statement, please see here for details.
